Manufacturing Engineer

Your role:

This is an engineering role responsible for maintenance and enhancement of fixed assets at a fine chemical manufacturing site. You will drive change through improvements to meet safety, quality, and efficiency targets. The operation consists of a 37,000 sq ft facility with chillers and air handlers and a wide variety of manufacturing equipment including automated handlers and custom-made chemical dispensers. Performance measures include: adherence to safety and quality policies, on-time execution of PM program, timeliness of equipment repair, ownership and successful handoff of engineering improvements. In this role, you will need to lift up to 50 pounds at times. Your responsibilities are generally divided as:

·  65% execution and leadership of engineering projects involving programming, technical drawings and writing, data processing
·  25% maintenance team leadership/supervision
·  10% administrative duties. 

 

Who you are:

 

Basic Qualifications:

·  Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or any related Engineering or Operations Management discipline
·  2+ years of experience writing technical documentation such as engineering drawings, fluidic diagrams, P&IDs, assembly and maintenance instructions etc.
·  3+ years of experience in an Engineering role within a manufacturing organization

OR

·  2+ semesters of engineering internship at a manufacturing organization

 

Preferred Qualifications:

·  2+ years of experience repairing electromechanical equipment
·  2+ years ofinformalleadership experience managing 3-4 technicians
·  Robotics experience (academically or work related)
·  Programming experience– C# preferred
·  Formalsupervisory experience
·  Lean/Six Sigma experience
·  Comfortable communicating job expectations and appraising results
·  Can coach, motivate, discipline employees according to performance criteria
·  Effective communicator to all levels of organization
·  Ability to write actionable technical documentation
