Life Science Financial Systems Analyst

This role can be based in Burlington, Massachusetts or Darmstadt, Germany

The Analyst for Systems & Processes LS NOW is a critical role to help in manage and improve Life Science Controlling reporting and planning processes in the current systems landscape of the Life Science organization. The incumbent reports to the Head of Controlling – Systems & Processes – LS NOW.

Your Role:

·  Owns controlling related system enhancements & collaborates with Group-Financial-Reporting and IT system owners & controlling partners on the continuous development of system functionality, reliability & data availability
·  Collaborates with the controller for master data governance & management and master data support to ensure consistent hierarchies and data updates are reflected in alignment with other controlling processes
·  Supports on key projects to develop and improve consistent reporting routines and data quality for sales, trade margin and SG&A / P&L within Life Science and other LS reporting requirements
·  Works closely with the Controller – SIAL Systems & Reporting to understand & develop SIAL reporting & transition key activities to maintain, execute and automate daily & monthly data flows for Daily Sales, World CoGs and allocated P&L.
·  Proactively identifies and communicates areas for operational and financial improvement within the LS financial reporting landscape. 
·  Develops reliable and comprehensive financial data structure and systems to ensure consistent & detailed financial analysis & planning in the business and financial community.    
·  Supports management reporting processes for business or function leadership ensuring accurate data and timely availability of relevant financial information. 
·  Develops and documents standard financial processes, with a focus on implementing common financial processes and practices globally across the company. Through process improvement and organizational design, improves the efficiency of the finance function.

 

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

·  5+ years of experience with demonstrated success in a variety of business environments and financial positions working closely with Financial systems & ERPs in a complex global system landscape.
·  Bachelors Degree 
·  Strong knowledge of accounting regulations and company accounting policies and practices, and unquestioned integrity in the application of such standards.
·  Outstanding business analysis, financial planning and reporting skills that generate business insights and add measurable value. Current knowledge of trends in finance and functional best-practices.
·  Strong interest and acumen in IT, ERP and reporting systems. Outstanding Microsoft Excel skills as well as analysis & data management skills. Knowledge of SAP ERP FI-CO required. User proficiency in IBM TM1, SAP BW, BO Web Intelligence and dashboarding tools highly desired.
·  Strong project management capabilities, ability to structure system processes and data flows in a highly complex system landscape. Excellent at workload prioritization and resource management.  Develops and manages processes that are effective and efficient. Strategic thinker.
·  Passionate and effective about sharing knowledge, driving change, managing and working in project teams to achieve desired results.
·  Superior interpersonal, communication (both written and verbal), and presentation skills. Capable of representing senior management. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment, and capable of gaining commitment and coordination action for initiatives. Effective working relationships across the company, at both the divisional and corporate level, and with all levels in the organization, from accountants and analysts to senior executives.

·  MBA, CPA or equivalent graduate business degree
·  Strong command of the English language (Written, Oral, Negotiations)
·  Travel requirements: 0-10%
