Janitor

Your Role:

 

The role of Janitor will requirecleaning and maintaining the non-production spaces to meet environmental management goals and requirements.

 

The janitor will be responsible for general upkeep of the facility appearance both inside and out.

Inside the facility the janitor will perform general cleaning duties such as washing windows, washing walls, dust mopping, sweeping, and wet mopping the floors. Vacuums all carpet floors and runners. Clean restrooms thoroughly and maintain a supply of paper towels, toilet paper, soap, etc.  Sanitize visitor shoes and return to shoe storage following visitor departure.

Empty trash in un-gowned areas of the plant as required as well as from facility laboratories.  Properly place waste and recyclables into receptacles per the direction of EHS Manager.  Maintain central waste storage areas.

 

Clean cafeteria, kitchenette, water fountains and locker rooms thoroughly and maintain a supply of paper towels, soap, hand sanitizer, cups, spoons, forks, etc. for the use by employees and visitors.  Replenish soap, sanitizer, and paper towels in all non-gowning areas of the facility.

Keeps janitorial and safety supplies in order and notifies Supervisor or EHS Manager as needed. 

 

Upkeep outside of the facility will involve grounds cleaning and snow removal from entrances and apply ice melt to insure safety of employees and guests on an as needed basis.

 

Other duties as assigned. This could also involveperforming operational activities to manufacture product according to cGMP's and site Standard Operating Procedures.

 

Physical Requirements:

·  Operate equipment necessary to complete job functions.
·  Use the safety equipment provided to perform job functions.

 
Who You Are:
 
Basic Qualifications:
 

·  High School Diploma or GED
·  1+ years janitorial related experience in industrial or manufacturing environment

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

·  Have a basic understanding of cGMP's, the ISO-quality system and department SOP's
·  Comply with all company Personnel and Safety practices and provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
·  Perform job functions with minimal supervision.
·  Legible handwriting.
·  Able to follow written work instructions established in SOP's and other written work instructions.
