Field Service Technician Washington D.C./ Northern Virginia

Your Role:

In the role of Field Service Engineer (FSE) you will be responsible for the installation, repair, preventative maintenance and qualification of water purification systems throughout Washington D.C / Northern Virginia area.  You will also be responsible to provide backup support to neighboring territories as required.

You will be provided with all the necessary tools and resources to provide MilliporeSigma's customers with Best-in-Class customer service and support.  FSTs operate under minimal supervision, work independently and proactively to manage their time in a dynamic and fast-paced environment within their geographic territory and enjoy being home-based.

·  The FSE’s interact with the internal support groups within the MilliporeSigma organization (Sales, Service Coordinators, Technical Services, Logistics, Customer Service and others).
·  The Field Service Engineer responsible for making all customer contact regarding scheduling and completion of all work within the service territory in the required time frame mandated by service organization norms and protocols.
·  Ensure proper administration and management of the territory workload as well as properly document service call completion, capture trend analysis and provide appropriate documentation to customers.
·  Responsible for promoting MilliporeSigma consumables, services, capital upgrades, and accessories to all customers; encouraging the growth of Millipore Sigma's Field Service business unit.
·  You will drive a company vehicle and you may travel outside of your assigned territory to provide backup support to colleagues in neighboring territories, during training or company meetings. Occasional overnight travel if attending training, providing back-up support or company meetings.  Overnight frequency is approximately 10-20%.
Physical Attributes:
·  Lifting of up to 50 pounds on occasion.

 W ho you are:

Basic Qualifications:

·  High School Diploma or GED
·  Valid driver’s license
·  1+ years of experience as a technician working with Electro-Mechanical devices OR in testing, repairing and maintaining capital equipment
·  1+ years of experience working with Microsoft Officeand Windows based programs
·  1 + years of experience working with PC Device connections and Network settings
·  1+ years of experience in the use of mechanical and hand tools and service test equipment

Preferred Qualifications:

·  Technical degree in areas such as Plumbing, Electronics, Computer Repair
·  Associates Degree in Engineering, Science or related Technical field
·  2+ years previous professional experience in Plumbing, Electronics, Computers
·  Experience with Reverse Osmosis and water purification technologies
·  Able to work independently with limited supervision and in an established team setting
·  Effective communication and customer service skills are essential with the ability to deliver “Best in class” customer satisfaction
·  Previous experience with credentialing vendors
