Engineer II - Single Use and Integrated Systems Group

Your role:

We are currently seeking a permanent Development Engineer for the Single Use and Integrated Systems Research and Development group within MilliporeSigma Process Solutions business unit. As a part of the R&D organization, the successful candidate will develop novel products used in the processing and purification of pharmaceutical and biotech product streams. In this dynamic environment, the candidate will participate in development teams and will act as a contributing member within a technical team to develop and validate single use products and related manufacturing processes, successfully transfer robust product and processes into manufacturing, and support commercial launch. In this role, you will be able to innovate using creativity and technical fundamentals, have self-driven curiosity, and an entrepreneurial spirit to always seek out development opportunities. Up to 20% travel.

· Participate in new product development teams
· Process development/Product validation
· Single use product design/drawing creation



Who you are:



Basic Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
· 4+ years of experience with product development and product design in the life science industry or related FDA regulated industry
· 3+ years of recent CAD experience with SolidWorks & PDM



Preferred Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Engineering or Chemical Engineering
· Product design and plastic component design / FEA
· Manufacturing equipment / fixture design
· FMEA, DFM
· Statistical process development (Minitab or equivalent)
· Sound decision making & hands-on approach in a development lab / MFG environment
· Experience with statistical software (Minitab or equivalent)
· Writing technical reports and presentations
· Writing validation documentation for manufacturing processes, IQ/OQ/PQ
· Project management techniques / Microsoft Project
· Be driven to achieve project goals and deadlines while managing and meeting cost targets
· Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and have effective team relationships including members representing a broad range of functions (R&D, manufacturing, quality, procurement and product management)
· Understand validation requirements for pharmaceutical and medical devices/ BPOG guidelines
· Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Work and PowerPoint)
