Calibration Technician II

Your Role:

 

The Calibration Technician II will perform precise calibrations, preventative and corrective maintenance on measuring and test equipment, instruments, tools, gauges and fixtures. Sets up test equipment and conducts tests on performance and reliability of mechanical, structural, or electromechanical equipment. Develops calibration operating procedures and documentation for all instruments. Selects and procures instrument spare parts to minimize machine downtime. May coordinate calibration with outside contractors for equipment that cannot be maintained internally. This position will be on 3 rd shift.

 

·  Works safely within the MilliporeSigma safety culture following Lock Out Tagout, Line Break, Electrical work and other safety procedures.
·  Executes varied tasks of medium complexity. Adopts a broad perspective when solving problems and spots new, less obvious solutions. Anticipates patterns and links. Looks beyond the immediate problem to the wider implications.
·  Works autonomously and safely within established guidelines, standard operating procedures and defined processes and helps determine the appropriate approach for new assignments.
·  Shows business acumen beyond the team and understands how the team cooperates with other teams.
·  Impacts the performance of own team and related teams through the quality and timeliness of own task execution, by providing services/information that assist others and by guiding others in the teams to increase overall effectiveness.
·  Regularly exchanges ideas and information effectively in a concise and logical way within the team and beyond.
·  Demonstrates tact and diplomacy when dealing with others and handling sensitive issues.
·  Demonstrates an understanding of quality systems and implements those principals into daily work practice

·  Able to lift 50 lbs
·  Push/pull up to 50lbs
·  Bending/twisting/kneeling/turning

 

Who you are:

 

Minimum Qualifications:

·  High School Diploma or GED equivalent
·  3+ years of calibration experience or in a related technical job (i.e. machine mechanic, electronics or Instrumentation and Controls technician or similar role).

 

Preferred Qualifications:

·  Associates degree or higher education and additional formal training that includes a broader knowledge of concepts and procedures beyond the immediate discipline.
·  Familiar with the use of MS Office tools (Word, Excel etc)
·  Basic Mathematical skills
