Raw Materials Laboratory Technician

James Well Beloved - Castle Cary, Somerset

Salary: £21,500 - £27,000 (+ Bonus + Benefits)

Background

We have an exciting opportunity for 2 Raw Materials Laboratory Technicians to join our site laboratory team within our James Well-beloved factory based in Castle Cary, Somerset. These roles work on an alternating weekly shift pattern of 6am-2pm (week 1) and 11am-7pm (week 2) Monday to Friday.

What you will do:

The main responsibility of our Raw Materials technicians is to confirm that the supply of raw materials achieves the specifications required for the James Well Beloved brand and ensure organisational and external compliance. This role works closely with other internal and external stakeholders, where developing good relationships is pivotal for the smooth running of the process, as well as collation and supply of KPI information for all stakeholders

Key Outputs:

·  Conduct scheduled calibrations (Internal/External).
·  Daily analysis preparation.
·  Preparation of Chemical dilutions.
·  Registration of Raw Material Receptions via Software Systems.
·  Sampling of Raw Material Receptions.
·  Conducting testing through various equipment.
·  Responsible for Quality Control Decisions (Non-Conformances, Concessions, Rejections).
·  Adherence to GMP/GHP cleaning practices within the Laboratory and relevant areas.
·  Collection and sending of samples for Sampling Plan, Microbiology, DEFRA and Ring Test.
·  Stock and Inventory monitoring.
·  Raw Material and Finished Product Sample Room Management

What we want from you:

·  Education to ‘A’ Level or above – a Science degree is desirable
·  Knowledge of laboratory testing methods
·  Previous experience of Laboratory co-ordination
·  Awareness of standards within a busy factory environment.
·  High levels of IT literacy with a good eye for detail.
