Packaging Quality & Implementation Technician

Introduction/Job Purpose
Currently, due to the development, Mars is looking for Packaging Quality & Implementation Technician who will be the site expert for packaging-related Quality and Food Safety controls and to plan and deliver on a range of packaging development & implementation projects in line with growth and cost optimization strategies, and Quality & Food Safety standards. The Job holder will also be responsible to lead & deliver small projects in the product and process areas.
What are we looking for?
· Professional qualification in a relevant scientific discipline, or equivalent experience in an FMCG environment (minimum 3 years)
· Degree level qualification in a relevant technical or scientific discipline (Food Science/Technology, Biological, Chemical, Engineering sciences)
· Experience in a similar role within an FMCG environment
· Good command of the English language
· Experience in scoping and managing projects in an FMCG environment
· Experience in experimental design and execution
· Direct experience of food packaging design and manufacturing processes
· Strong communication skills and proven ability to work as part of an effective team
· Knowledge of food packaging substrate functionality
· Readiness to undergo on-the-job training at the Sochaczew Factory
What would be your key responsibilities?
· Execute and deliver on a range of packaging development & implementation projects that will lead to continuous improvement in product design and performance
· Execute and deliver on projects designed to optimize business costs, while adhering to agreed standards of Quality and Food safety
· Manage site packaging specifications in line with design principles and standards
· Support technical risk assessments on changes to packaging, and ensure that all risks are effectively managed
· Manage the implementation of new packaging on site according to the Mars Packaging Quality Management standard using relevant system tools
· Contribute to the definition of minimum standards and critical success factors as part of the processes for defined packaging implementation projects in collaboration with other site R&D team members, Hub R&D, and local cross-functional teams
· Collate and manage packaging data, ensuring that that our packaging conforms to standards, and that exceptions are effectively escalated and managed
· Work on trouble-shooting activities in partnership with other functions to ensure the successful resolution of packaging issues
· Contribute to Product Related Incident Management Process teams as required
· Input into local and European Activity Task Groups, providing risk assessment and technical support as required
· Actively participate in regional technical communities to promote the effective sharing of knowledge and experience across the network and central teams
