Manufacturing Apprenticeship – Slough

4 Year Programme

Salary £17,100 rising on completion of each academic year

Joining an apprenticeship with Mars will give you the opportunity to gain amazing experience, learn new skills and earn real money from day one. You’ll be joining a community of like-minded people, including lots of other apprentices and spending time between college and one of our UK sites. We are offering a scheme in Manufacturing, which involves you taking part in fantastic training courses and team building events, whilst tackling real challenges and taking on real responsibility. You’ll need to be a great team player and communicator, with the motivation to get results and a positive mindset. As a Mars Apprentice you will gain a professional qualification, as well as on the job experience.

Manufacturing, Slough - 4 years

This is an exciting Apprenticeship, where you will be working towards the ST0537 Engineering Operative Standard & ST0196 Advanced Food Operator standard. Year 1 is full time at Kingston College which will allow you to develop your technical foundation. Year 2, will see you based at our factory in Slough and continue your academic development with day release at College. Years 3 & 4 are based at our factory in Slough. With strong mentorship, you will be hands on, helping you develop the technical & leadership skills required to become a Lead Operator. We offer robust and structured development, through one-to-one mentors and give regular opportunities to engage with higher management throughout the scheme to help you excel in your future career. Qualification requirements: GCSE Grade 4 or above in Maths, English, Science and two others.

Making Your Application

All of our apprenticeships have a start date of September 2020.
For all of our apprenticeship schemes you will require a minimum of 5 GCSE's and you must be willing and able to travel to site, as well as college. (Please see job advert for specific GCSE requirements)
In terms of the process. Please apply through the website, where you will be asked to upload a copy of your CV and answer several competency based questions. . The next stage is a telephone interview. If you do well at this stage, we’ll invite you to a panel day, which will include a group discussion exercise, a problem solving exercise, a presentation, and an interview. You will also get a factory tour with one of our current apprentices, so you can see our environment for yourself, and hear about life with us as an apprentice from someone who’s already been in your shoes.
