Job Purpose:

A Maintenance/Reliability Supervisor role is to effectively and efficiently prioritize, communicate, facilitate and co¬-ordinate all maintenance activities within their area. This position requires working closely with other supply groups particularly Quality Control and Operations to insure consistent product quality, productivity and safety. The Maintenance Supervisor will make assignments and monitor progress, co-ordinate training and develop associates in their area of responsibility. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for developing and implementing continuous improvement activities that address safety, quality, and efficiency. The maintenance Supervisor is responsible for detailed planning of work scheduled in their area. The Maintenance Supervisor will partner with production to schedule jobs. He/she must have in-depth knowledge of the entire maintenance area and be recognized as an expert in multiple technologies. The Maintenance Supervisor role requires strong leadership, communication, interpersonal and team building skills to support site objectives.

Principal Accountabilities:

Safety Compliance

·  Train technicians on safe operating procedures.
·  Provide input or lead any safety investigation for area of responsibility.
·  Ensure working conditions are normal and enforce safety requirements.

Maintenance Supervisor

·  Lead the development of maintenance standard work instructions that reflect best practices and follow-up to be sure they are used appropriately.
·  Conduct training (technical) to ensure associates can perform standardized work within given time frames.
·  Manage day to day staffing. This includes vacation planning for area of responsibility.
·  Collect and report shift information.

Equipment Maintenance and Sanitation

·  Effectively communicates and schedule PMs and corrective work in the area of responsibility.
·  Maintains clean work environment including 5S adherence and follow through to ensure completion of action plans to address sources of contamination.

Performance Management & Associate Engagement

·  Jointly agree, with the Technical Manager, job and development expectations for associates by area/job
·  Communicate job and development expectations to associates
·  Provide performance coaching and feedback to associates on a regular basis
·  Involved with hiring decisions along with Technical Manager
·  Team engagement including facilitation of team building discussions and events
·  Provide supplemental input for associates' performance reviews

Recognized Expert for Maintenance

·  Prioritizes all of the maintenance activities such as unplanned work orders, continuous improvement activities, and operational preventative maintenance programs.
·  Monitor CMMS data accuracy for their crew.
·  Demonstrated ability to resolve non-routine issues at root cause and incorporate into preventive actions.
·  Detailed knowledge of area including process flow, rates, critical control points, metrics (ATS, TRS, costs).
·  Ability to troubleshoot routine and non-routine issues and direct maintenance team resources towards achieving safe, timely, cost efficient solutions.
·  Effective shift communications. Attends and leads on maintenance issues in shift overlaps, quality reviews, and daily meetings as required.
·  Ability to complete root cause failure analysis on issues involving reliability, product/packaging defects, downtime and slow time.
·  Effectively works and communicates with all departments (scheduling, engineering, R&D, IE, logistics, operations, etc.)

·  Solid training skills for one to one or situations on systems of expertise
·  Identify, develop, and deliver training for area of responsibility
·  Share expertise to coach others to improve efficiency and achieve results

Minimum Requirements:

·  High School diploma or equivalent, in-house training is required.
·  Two (2)+ years of on-the-job experience as a maintenance lead/supervisor/manager/, leading high performing maintenance/reliability/technical staff
·  Ability to be liaison between process, operations, maintenance, logistics, QC and R&D
·  Ability to plan and schedule all maintenance work in area of responsibility
·  Demonstrate a strong ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
·  Must possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment
·  Must be able to multi task
·  Must have strong computer proficiency in Microsoft office suite.
·  Must be able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs
·  Must be able to climb stairs
·  Perform repetitive movements
·  Must be willing to work overtime, weekends and all scheduled shutdowns as needed
·  Must have strong communication skills
·  Must have the understanding of GMP's, HACCP and ISO
·  Advanced analytical thinking & problem solving

Preferred Qualifications:

·  Associate Degree or high level education or equivalent training is considered a plus
·  Four (4)+ years of on-the-job experience as a maintenance lead/supervisor/manager/, leading high performing maintenance/reliability/technical staff
·  Reliability Centered Maintenance and predictive maintenance programs experience
