BACKGROUND

Kinship’s Data Science & Analytics team is core to our strategy. We’re using digital, data and customer insights to transform our business by finding answers to problems that we’ve often never asked ourselves before. Our vast data assets are being combined to build a 360° view of Pets and Pet Owners to not only power Kinship’s businesses but also influence the next great ideas in the Petcare space.

THE JOB

This role will be key in helping us understand the power of our data, and how this translates into value for our company, Pets, and Pet Owners. Frequently the projects will be ambiguous, but that’s part of the fun; you will determine the best way to leverage our data to tell the right story for any given audience.

KEY OUTPUTS

·  Work with team members and stakeholders to provide actionable insights
·  Apply statistical and data science techniques to our data-sets
·  A desire to share, network and communicate with other analytical and data experts to advance learning and understanding of pets and pet-owners
·  Enthusiastically evolve the team’s skillset, learning new technologies and techniques
·  Share ideas, promote best practices and suggest enhancements
·  Work closely with stakeholders, data engineers and technology partners
·  Have a strong customer focus and a keen understanding of commercially actionable deliverables that provide deliver added value and services to our pet-owners

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

Education & Professional Qualification

·  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or other numerate discipline
·  Experience with Python (numpy, pandas, etc)
·  Exeprience working in a forward thinking company with a significant number of years experience in data science.

Knowledge/Experience

·  Must have excellent communication skills, able to work with all levels of a business and interact effectively with internal stakeholders
·  Confident in identifying and escalating key points/issues.
·  Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills.
·  Strong problem solving and task management skills.

·  Quick learner, ability to understand and simplify highly complex scenarios.
·  Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload.
·  Comfortable liaising with senior management on a daily basis.
·  Ability to collaborate with and influence peers.
