This position is located in Mt. Olive, NJ

Underpinning the Finance Transformation will be a significant step change in our data and data capabilities, as it will form the heart of nearly all the solutions we will deliver. We are therefore looking for a strong Data & Information Architect to ensure that we create strategic data assets in a user centric way. This will require working across all aspects of the program to understand user needs, the current state & availability of our data and defining the blueprint for the future that we will build in an Agile and iterative way.

Mars Digital Technologies and Finance teams are partnering closely to make this happen, and as such, this role will be an integral part of not only the Mars Digital Technologies team, but also feel part of the Finance teams as they develop and execute their change & strategies.

What you’ll do

·  Work closely FP&A and Finance subject matter experts, source system teams, and end users to understand, interpret, design and deliver data models and data architectures for global scale that enable the needs of Finance
·  Lead the definition and build of self-service data assets and models, that enable end users to access their data in a seamless way whilst ensuring they leverage standard KPI’s and calculations
·  Act as a subject matter expert in consultancy capacity across multiple sprints & product teams as required – ensuring appropriate documentation & knowledge transfer so as not to become a bottleneck. This may also include non-Finance product teams where Financial data is required
·  Ensure relevant security and access control policies and frameworks are relevant and applied & operated appropriately on all data assets in scope
·  Create the information architecture and roadmaps to define the framework and explain the migration steps necessary to meet evolving business requirements
·  Analysing new business requirements from an Information architecture perspective to ensure solutions meet standards for reliability, scalability, and availability
·  Remain abreast of technology opportunities to improve information & data delivery strategically, and lead prototype & pilot activities to assess and recommend
·  Drive adoption, awareness and maturity of appropriate use of Information in Decision making & Analytics
·  Drive socialisation campaigns with IT and business peers of the availability of information, how it is accessed and how to contribute to its evolution

What you’ll need

To do all this, you’ll need:

·  Ideally, significant experience and understanding of core Mars internal systems, their data structures and the data & analytics landscape (Atlas, Apollo, Helios, HFM, RC, etc). Familiarity and experience with SAP, Anaplan and external data structures is critical.
·  Minimum 3 years of experience preferred within a Big Data Azure environment (or equivalent)
·  Experience working with divergent data sets that meet the requirements of the Data Science and Data Analytics teams
·  Hands-on experience with data modelling, query techniques and complexity analysis
·  Experience with cloud, container and micro service infrastructures
·  Technical expertise with emerging Big Data technologies, such as: Python, Scala, Spark, Hadoop, Clojure, Git, Flink, Elasticsearch, SQL, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and DNB (databricks); visualization tools: Tableau and PowerBI
·  Experience with or exposure to the FMCG/CPG industry
·  A good understanding of and adherence to data security standards
·  The ability to tell a story using data from primary, secondary and third party data sources
·  Experience working in a matrix environment where creating collaboration and influence are required for generating results
·  Comfort and good intuition around modelling techniques and advanced applied skills
·  Working knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, to deliver output to the broader business community to improve decision making and productivity
·  Excellent written, oral, presentation, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
