Position Summary:

To ensure the smooth and efficient running of the reception desk at Marriott CEC.

Position Pre Requisites:

· Neat, professional appearance and an outgoing people-oriented personality which conveys pride in working for Marriott and which is demonstrated by a ready smile and a willingness to assist others.
· Ability to function in a fast-paced environment handling multiple priorities simultaneously.
· Ability to deal with situations of a dynamic nature; to be able to modify plans, actions, and decisions in light of changing situations and circumstances.
· Positive and friendly attitude at all times to colleagues and visitors.
· Familiarity with all Marriott product lines and frequency marketing programmes.
· Adaptable to change.
· Familiarity with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, photocopiers.
· Computer/typing skills.
· Excellent communication and organisational skills.
· Previous experience in a similar role, although not essential, is a distinct advantage.
· Minimum secondary level education; training in office systems and software desirable.
· No active written warnings at time of application.
· At least 6 months tenure in current Marriott International role.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·  Ensure that incoming post is opened and dealt with daily. Items of urgency should be brought to the appropriate department head.
·  Be responsible for outgoing correspondence from departments. If needed, arrange for urgent items to be delivered by courier or overnight carrier.
·  All telephone inquiries answered promptly and handled in a professional and accurate manner.
·  Maintain an attitude and commitment to provide excellent service to all customers and associates in the centre and support. Respond sensitively to the needs and feelings of others, regardless of status of position; accept interpersonal differences and maintain a constructive rapport with all associates and customers.
·  Maintain computer systems knowledge.
·  Maintain a clean, neat and well-organised workplace which projects a professional atmosphere which supports the general goals of the Department which is to be a preferred employer and provider of a desirable work place.
·  Maintain visitor access process (including distribution of ID cards).
·  Load information on Connect as and when necessary.
·  Maintain and update files as appropriate.
·  Any other duties as assigned.
