Additional Information: This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, Interstate Hotels and Resorts . The franchisee controls all aspects of the hotel's employment policies and practices, including the selection and hiring process. If you accept a position at this hotel you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International.

Directly Supports the Director of Sales and Marketing as well as the Entire Sales and Catering Team with the preparation and delivery of Group Sales proposals, contracts, and add endums. Works directly with the team to determine hotel availability, rates, proposed meeting space and special concessions, as well as developing client relations and retention to increase Sales and Customer Satisfaction.

Responsible for compiling all incoming leads to the hotel from sources such as Cvent, CI/TY, Starcite, and The San Diego Tourism Authority. Distribute said leads to Sales Team, based on appropriate market deployment. (Average of 300 leads per month)

Marriott systems experience required ."

·  Actively sell and develop new business for The Tangent at Westin San Diego, Meeting Space of 6 people or less.
·  Opens incoming mail, dates stamps and distributes accordingly. Sends outgoing mail both interoffice and outside of the hotel. Routes mail, faxes and other printed matter
·  Types and prepares numerical/financial reports, as directed. Prepares correspondence on behalf of management staff. Enters data into the departments' information system, as required. Duplicates, copies and distributes and mails materials for the department/office
·  Orders and maintains office supplies and equipment. Maintains files and equipment in an orderly and professional manner
·  Uses the property's email system and maintains their email box, as is policy. Additionally, this position may or may not have access and/or control over the email box of their supervisor
·  Greets internal and external customers in a friendly and professional manner. Announces visitors and/or handles requests, as appropriate

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:




In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.

Maintain and enhance automation efforts in the Sales and Catering database, in order to increase daily productivity for sales, catering and convention services personnel. Accurately generate and process all reports that are communicated to Interstate & Marriott corporate offices.Prepare all monthly sales and catering reports, including but not limited to, SMARTS reports, revenue management, booking analysis and incentive calculation reports for individual and team production, submitting accurate reports in a timely manner.Distribute sales managers' incentive calculation reports monthly for review, detailing production in each area of the plan.Manage and administrate the CI/TY database and group sales backlog to ensure data integrity for accurate reporting, including maintenance of security of confidential material stored in the CI/TY database.

Maintains work area in a neat and orderly fashion.Other duties as assigned by management
