Job Description:

We are looking for a Planner to join our Home team! You will assist the Planning Manager/ Lead to ensure key strategic and commercial plans are implemented. You will ensure stock and commitment controls and disciplines are enforced for the BU and provide commercial information as required on business unit activity

Key Responsibilities & Measures

·  Assist the Planning Manager/ Lead to ensure key strategic and commercial plans are implemented including way and reduced planning
·  Facilitate the merchandise budgeting and planning process for stock and commitment ensuring that all key operational and strategic decisions are incorporated within the agreed time lines
·  Drive consistent stock planning standards across the BU
·  Report of Weekly/Monthly end stocks and commitment position against agreed plans for the business unit
·  Work closely with Merchandisers/Buyers and embedded Finance to deliver business unit plans to agreed timescales
·  Assist in developing and adhering to the end to end critical path and identify any operational issues
·  Assist the Plannng Manager in embedding the Outlets business within the BU planning process
·  To provide commercial information as required on business unit activity. E.g., Sale, promotional activity, seasonal planning, review summaries, weekly sales
·  Ensure consistent documentation is deployed in all departments of the business unit as determined for clothing
·  Act as a central point of contact for all business unit issues relating to the merchandise planning and control process, including attribute management, IDL and RTW management
·  Liaise with non-buying areas and peers to ensure all reporting and process requirements are implemented in a consistent way across all business units
·  To support the Planning Manager/Lead in working alongside the space and catalogue manager to provide the business areas with a catalogue and ways plan which reflect the overall operating plan, BU strategy and drives RPF across C&H
·  Champion and act as a point of contact/escalation for the BU for BU Merchandising queries from International, M&S.com and all other key stakeholders
·  Assist in the planning and lockdown of each launch ensuring all issues are resolved with the Merchandisers. Monitor and report on OTIF, including status 3, ways vs targets and adherence to SCP

Key Skills

·  Good merchandising skills
·  Commercial understanding of the Outlets operation
·  Knowledge of the business IT systems and the stock interdependencies
·  Knowledge of the merchandising principles of the business
·  A working knowledge of non-buying support areas e.g. cataloguing and logistics
·  and promotional activity
·  Good influencing and communication skills
·  Good numerical & analytical skills
·  Able to build good relationships at all level
