About the team and responsibilities

Our Actuarial practice helps insurers and other financial institutions prepare for the future. We help measure and manage risks, identify and implement efficiency improvements and improve performance. With our fast-growing team of actuaries, we proactively help clients increase profits whilst reducing reputational, operational, financial and other risks. We are experienced in managing diverse issues including regulatory compliance, risk frameworks and modelling, capital efficiency, corporate governance and much more. We assist our clients in better understanding the local and international regulatory environment. We add value by providing efficient and innovative solutions.

Your role as an Assistant Manager / Manager - Actuarial Advisory Department

You will play a key role in supporting our clients on their actuarial and risk management challenges. You will be a trusted adviser and help clients navigate the complex regulatory environment, while leveraging your actuarial and risk related studies and experience.

The responsibilities of this role are wide ranging and varied. The support in business development initiatives around actuarial services is another angle to a complete Assistant Manager / Manager profile. Our clients are expecting us to remain abreast of regulatory change and this cannot be done better than by following a regulation from inception to implementation.

As part of our team you will:

•Be in charge of client-related actuarial advisory and audit assignments.
•Address clients' actuarial requirements in relation to IFRS 17 implementations, Solvency II reviews and process improvements, MCEV, reviews of technical provisions and more.

•Deliver professional consulting advice on a wide range of actuarial and risk management issues.

•Support the audit teams in understanding the actuarial aspects of financial statements.
•Lead communication with clients on actuarial advisory and audit assignments.
•Support more junior members of the team, reviewing their work and providing guidance as needed.
•Train more junior members of the actuarial team on relevant actuarial topics.

For Manager level:

Develop KPMG Luxembourg Actuarial practice, facilitating the pipeline in onboarding new clients and maintaining the existing client base.
•Lead or contribute to proposals' preparation.
Provide down/upward feedback and act as a performance manager to more junior members of the team.
•Support recruitment initiatives.

Irrespective of the area you are working in you will be expected to involve the following:

•Producing technically excellent and consistently accurate calculations with clear audit trail.
•Producing high quality deliverables addressing key client issues.
•Managing own time effectively to consistently meet all deadlines.
•Regularly monitoring all aspects of risk compliance.
•Showing awareness of commercial issues and occasionally applies this to identify potential opportunities for clients.
•Looking for opportunities for direct external client contact.

The perfect candidate

•You hold a Bachelor or Master's degree in either Actuarial Science, Math or equivalent.
•You have more than 5 years of experience in actuarial in the Insurance or Management Consulting domain.
•You hold an actuarial qualification from the UK, French, German or equivalent actuarial association.
•You are a team player willing to share your experience and committed to grow your colleagues.
•You are client-driven and solution oriented.
•You are fluent in English, French and German language are considered an asset.
•You have experience with actuarial and statistical tools (ex: Prophet, R, VBA, etc.).
•You enjoy working in a multicultural environment.
