Job Summary

KPMG Law LLP's Tax Litigation & Dispute Resolution section assists companies and individuals to protect against, prepare for, and respond to challenges by the tax authorities. KPMG Law is involved in each stage of the tax dispute - from pre-litigation to litigation in provincial and federal courts and tribunals.

Job Summary
As a member of the litigation team, you are actively involved in all stages of files. You will work closely with all members of our team, including partners, associates, paralegals, and administrative support to help our clients through the dispute resolution process. Your organizational skills, initiative, and strong work ethic allow you to coordinate the deadlines of multiple files.

Main Responsibilities

·  File management, including maintenance and organization of documents in both paper and electronic format
·  eDiscovery tasks, including maintenance of document databases, assisting with document production, and completing objective coding
·  Drafting correspondence, lists of documents, affidavits, undertakings charts, transcript summaries, and various other documents
·  Preparation of court documents including Books of Documents, Books of Authorities, and motion materials
·  Preparation for meetings, discoveries, trials and other related tasks as needed
·  Attending discoveries and hearings as required
·  Administrative duties as required Job Requirements
·  Paralegal degree/diploma, law clerk diploma or other credentials with relevant paralegal/law clerk experience
·  3-5 years of direct experience in litigation
·  Strong knowledge of the e-Discovery software such as Relativity, Ringtail, or Summation
·  Proficient in standard office software such as MS Word, Outlook, and Adobe
·  Excellence in time management; ability to effectively manage conflicting requirements and priorities
·  Strong communication, both written and verbal
·  Initiative and high degree of autonomy
·  Ability to work well both individually and as part of a team
·  Interest in the implementation of processes and procedures
·  Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity and discretion
·  Self-motivated to achieve high standards in all aspects of work
·  Client service oriented and professional
·  Knowledge of the Tax Court, Federal Court, and Federal Court of Appeal would be an asset but not a requirement Please submit a cover letter with your application.
