Overview of the opportunity:

Please note this is a 12 month contract.

The Immigration Coordinator is responsible for assisting employees of multi-national companies in obtaining business visitor visas and work permits in a timely and efficient manner. This role requires excellent multi-tasking skills and an ability to communicate effectively with government offices, local specialists, HR representatives and employees.

The Immigration Coordinator is responsible for managing work permit related files for numerous countries and assisting with business visitor visas, as needed.
What you will do:
Immigration :
·  Assist clients in the preparation and filing of applications for business visitor visas, work/residence permits.
·  Serve as primary point of contact for the client/employee.
·  Research requirements for immigration documentation via internet, direct phone communication with visa offices, host country government authorities, and local specialists.
·  Prepare standard form instructions for client/employee.
·  Create processing strategy, steps and timeline for achieving objectives.
·  Prepare, organize and submit standardized, well-written, and error-free support/sponsor letters and all appropriate forms in a timely manner.
·  Interact with HR department and employee(s) to obtain and complete documents required for visas and work permit applications.
·  Attend consulate(s) to submit documents and pick up approved visas.
·  Communicate effectively with government authorities on client files.
·  Review documentation provided by local specialists for accuracy prior to delivery to client.
·  Analyze local specialist advice to ensure compliance with KPMG Law, corporate standards and local guidelines.
·  Complete assessments of immigration requirements based on information provided by clients. Client Care:
·  Communicate updates on immigration process to clients.
·  Act as intermediary between local specialist and clients.
·  Follow-up on pending matters.
·  Develop an informative communication stream with clients.
·  Escalate issues to management as necessary. Administration:
·  Organize and maintain files for all immigration matters.
·  Ensure that local specialist invoices are delivered to accounting in a timely manner, and that billing instructions are delivered to the Global Team's billing team.
·  Record keeping and managing all client data files within the KPMG Law database.
·  Maintain up-to-date e-filing of invoices for business visitor visa files and/or work permits. Supervisor Duties:
·  Monitor all emails for business visitor visa files.
·  Review instruction document lists to ensure accuracy.
·  Assist with problem solving and resolution of file related issues.
·  Escalate matters to supervising lawyers when necessary.
·  Take over case management when main point of contact is absent.
·  Contact clients to provide support, ensure clarity and assist with conflict resolution.
·  Distribute business visitor visa files to the team.
·  Respond to client requests and inquiries with regard to business travel.
What you bring to the role:

·  2 plus years of immigration experience preferred
·  Foreign/second language capabilities is preferred
·  Attention to detail and accuracy.
·  Ability to multi-task and meet aggressive deadlines.
·  Ability to demonstrate analytical and problem solving skills within a fast-paced environment.
·  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
·  Computer proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
·  College or University degree an asset
·  Ability to locate and research information efficiently, to use it effectively, and to evaluate the quality of the information.
·  Ability to work with minimal supervision.
·  Self-directed and highly-motivated.
·  Ability to communicate responsibly and promote effective working relationships.
·  Knowledge of immigration practices and procedures an asset.
