KPMG Learning Services (KLS) delivers innovative, bespoke and high quality learning to a number of high profile public and private sector clients.

The role works as part of the Performance Reporting team (across Management Information & Finance) to effectively design and develop a range of daily, weekly and monthly dashboards, reports and financial reports to assist with the operational effectiveness of the Service Centre.

The role will require developing familiarity with a host of different systems, both belonging to KPMG and to clients. As such a proven ability to get to grips with different data architectures and schemas is vital – as well as the ability to explain these concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Provide analysis of data regarding operations performance and communicate with operational teams and clients to proactively identify required performance reports and trends.

Deliver robust, timely and insightful MI and reporting that enables key stakeholders to make informed decisions, based on operational insight and robust data.

The role will require involvement with key finance processes around accounts payable, billing and maintaining robust financial budgeting and reporting.

Roles and responsibilities

• Responsible for producing analysis and MI reporting for Operations with incisive commentary aiding in wider performance understanding
• Deliver appropriate analysis to enable key stakeholders to make informed decisions based on sound recommendations to achieve solutions to a wide range of operational problems
• Maintain functional dashboards and proactively identify & investigate trends, anomalies & early warning signs.
• Undertake operations data management activities
• Performing and reporting on transactional tasks such as raising invoices, managing supplier invoices, tracking cancellation charges
• Running regular and ad hoc finance and MI reports
• Ensure the policy, procedures and practices of the Performance Reporting team comply fully with all legal and regulatory requirements and codes of practice/conduct
• Ensure appropriate risk controls are in place so that items such as the potential risk to company arising from money laundering and fraud, is minimised.
• Reporting of issues of concern and/or business incidents to Head of Finance
• Performing ad hoc analysis
• Assisting with finance month end – preparing management accounts
• Assisting with MI month end – producing monthly reporting packs
• Producing regular reconciliations between our finance systems to ensure compliance with SLAs
• Working with wider finance team to develop and improve transactional processes with an emphasis on controls
• Supporting the MI team to maintain and improve our reporting platform

Skills and Experience

• Some experience in a reporting development/design level role
• Knowledge of MI design principles and concepts with experience of using SQL and Excel (VBA experience preferred)
• Understanding of modern BI platforms( Power BI, Qlik, Tableau etc.) and willingness to develop in it
• Good communication and relationship management skills.
• Good analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to use information to generate creative solutions to benefit the business.
• Attention to detail and excellent follow-up skills
• Proven ability to work with other functions, including cross-divisional to achieve business objectives
• Innovative thinker with ability to approach problems from different angles in order to resolve
• Awareness of the FCA, CCA, Data Protection Act and other relevant legislation, procedures and processes
• Commercial Awareness
