Job description



We are currently seeking to hire a consultant with a technical modelling background, ideally with assurance related experience and proficiency with technology enabling solutions.

We ideally need you to have the following on your CV:

·  Strong academic background, including a degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or other related field with strong quantitative focus;
·  Excellent knowledge of SQL, Ms Access and Ms Excel;
·  Experience in data modelling and management, integration and manipulation of large datasets;
·  Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications and advanced Excel and Access skills. VBA a plus;
·  Working knowledge of data visualisation tools (such as Qlikview, Tableau, Spotfire);
·  Familiarity with practical programming languages preferable, which may include SAS, Python, VBA or C++;
·  A broad range of general knowledge on wider commercial, business and economic issues;
·  Good general financial knowledge;
·  Experience of client-facing roles with a high quality of delivery to tight timescales;
·  Good problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skills; and
·  Good communication skills (written and oral).
The successful candidate will be a college graduate with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience and hold a combination of IT, assurance and business qualifications, skills and experience. A proactive, positive, can-do attitude and the ability to think laterally are essential.

·  Leading consultancy practices or Industry based business analysis or IT lead
·  Banking modelling groups
·  Qualified accountant / financial controller in a role that involves forecasting and / or substantial technical modelling and interpretation of results
Your work will be varied. Below will be some of your core responsibilities:

·  Developing analytical and reporting solutions including extracting data using SQL and processing and reconciling large data sets;
·  Analysing complex business requirements from an IT perspective to identify logic gaps. Ability to interpret regulatory and financial requirements will be critical in this regard;
·  Analysing large datasets to identify trends and data quality issues;
·  Carrying out relevant analysis and presenting findings (both written and orally);
·  Developing scoping and planning documents for assurance projects with an IT element;
·  Contribute to project teams and take responsibility for completing high quality work within agreed timescales;
·  Acting as IT lead and subject matter expert to more junior member of staff;
·  The successful candidate will also be required to deliver to tight deadlines in a pressurized project environment where additional hours will be required to meet deadlines
