Job description

Kuehne + Nagel is building a new single and global transport management system for road transportation called RoadLOG. The primary goal of the project is to introduce new standard processes that will improve operational productivity and visibility. This is distributed agile project with 5 scrum teams. All together 60 people are working on this project.

Your Role

You will be responsible for shaping technical architectural landscape of the project. Working with the development teams you will be instilling best practices and coming up with solutions for complex technical problems. Expect to lead topics, explaining benefits and disadvantages of technological choices to stakeholders and drive them successfully to completion.

Your Responsibilities

Write maintainable and reliable software by using agile methodologies, Java, and technologies like e.g. JPA/Hibernate, Spring, Oracle, SQL, Tomcat technologies, Maven. Responsibility for the overall technical quality. Active participation in all team activities, including implementation, requirements analysis, defects handling, documentation, deployment and testing. Collaborate and provide leadership to cross-functional teams. Lead discussions on design, new features, and approaches to implementing new services. Provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced developers. Create and continously improve software architecture and design.

Your Skills and Experiences

Solid practical and theoretical knowledge in the fields of computer science, software development and enterprise software development. Good knowledge about established technologies, current trends and proven solutions for  architectural problems.  Familiarity with Industry and software development methodologies, standards and architecture frameworks. Extensive experience in designing object-oriented software. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Excellent initiative, innovative thinking skills, and the ability to analyze details and adopt a big-picture view. Excellent oral and written communication skills: ability to explain complex technical information to technical and non-technical contacts.
