Summary
YOUR OPPORTUNITY
The Assistant Controller will manage all day to day functions of the finance department, supervising finance department staff and reporting directly to and working closely with Balenciaga's Director of Finance.

Job Description

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE

·  Support the Director of Finance in analyzing the business activity, trends, KPI’s and drivers of business profitability
·  Control, review, reconcile, and report Cap-Ex activities to ensure that invoices are recorded in proper areas and aligned to approved projects
·  Prepare financial statements and management reports for monthly closings, business reviews and strategic assessments
·  Manage monthly closings, GL reconciliation, and complete analysis on P&L and balance sheet deviations from plan for Canada, Mexico, and the US
·  Complete various wholesale sales reporting and analysis including sales and gross margin while also preparing ad hoc analysis as needed to support the business
·  Develop business budgets and forecasts within tight deadlines
·  Manage rent commitments for various DOS locations to ensure proper recording of actual rent expenses along with current liabilities for all retail locations (prepaid rent, straight-line rent, construction period rent)
·  Review and prepare accounting entries while providing guidance to staff on accounting-related matters
·  Work on a daily basis to support financial requests and reports for Balenciaga headquarters, the local office, and Kering corporate
·  Meet with Kering Shared Services in Mexico on a monthly basis to review and analyze prior month activities
·  Partner proactively with Director of Store Planning on project costs, projections, management, and control
·  Manage intercompany payments and reconciliations for product purchases and parent company recharges and Kering Shared Services recharges
·  Manage external mid-year and year-end audits and provide support to internal audits as needed
·  Navigate and master multiple accounting systems and sub-ledgers including but not limited to Lawson, Movex, JDA, Auditworks, Hyperion
·  Identify areas of improvement and generate innovative ideas to increase process efficiencies 

WHO YOU ARE

·  BA/BS in Accounting or Finance
·  Minimum of 10 years of experience
·  Display ingenuity in anticipating needs and adapting to changing situations
·  Demonstrate sound analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
·  Highly proficient Microsoft Excel skills (look-ups, formulas, pivot tables, etc.)
·  Knowledge of Hyperion (HFM) system preferred
·  Proven experience managing multiple projects and ongoing duties while maintaining necessary follow up and deadlines
·  Strong written and verbal communication skills
·  Excels in a team-oriented environment and embraces feedback
·  Knowledge of the luxury/fashion market with exposure in retail and/or audit
·  Knowledge of SAP and PBCS preferred
