Duties & Responsibilities

What's the role about?

The Q&T Coordinator team will provide support and resource for the Quality & Technical department. 

The successful candidates will form part of a recently created team to drive efficiency and consistency in all aspects of due diligence and brand reputation. 

The role will be fast paced and performance will be measured on your attention to detail, quality of work completed and ability to meet deadlines. A degree of flexibility will be required in the event of urgent work requests, for example in reaction to a product incident.

Excellent attention to detail and organisiation will be crucial to provide a professional service to the team. Due to the nature of the role an ability to work to deadlines and manage your own workload will be fundamental to your success.

This position would be a fantastic opportunity for a recently qualified Food Scientist (or equivalent discipline) to kick start their career in the Quality & Technical department with Waitrose & Partners. 

Job Requirements

What you will be doing?

- Be part of a new team providing dedicated support to drive operational excellence across all product categories.  
- Supporting all aspects of product due diligence and technical compliance. Working with all functions of the Quality and Technical department, enhancing your technical skills and knowledge. 
- Problem solving and data analysis
- Gathering data and documentation in preparation for internal and external audits
- Providing responses to product queries to key stakeholders
- Setting up and managing detailed reports on a routine and ad hoc basis
- Ability to learn on the job and adapt to using new systems and platforms

Required essential experience skills and qualifications

What you'll have:

- Knowledge of allergens.
- Exprience within food technology.
- Previous Technical experience e.g. Working in a similar role or have completed a year in industry.
- Data savvy, ability to build, trend and analyse complex reports.
- Excellent attention to detail, written and verbal skills.
- Management of product specifications.
- Ability to work with multiple systems.

Required desirable experience skills and qualifications

What else you can bring to the role:

- Degree or equivalent qualification in an appropriate discipline (Food Technology, Trading Law, or  equivalent)
