Your Responsibilities

The John Deere Extended Warranty programs are growing globally and are a centerpiece of many current initiatives centered around improving customer experience, offering more proactive solutions for our dealers and customers, as well as assisting dealers in the “Win-in-the-Aftermarket” goals.  In this role, you will be assisting in the development and coordination of extended warranty programs in multiple regions within the Proactive Customer & Product Support group, with a focus on ensure IT projects are designed properly, completed on time and within annual budget parameters, while meeting all formal Agile processes.

 

Your Responsibilities

·  As a Product Owner for John Deere located in Moline, Illinois, you will represent the "voice of the customer" at the team level. In addition, you will:  
·  Define product functionality and priorities
·  Maintain and refine the product backlog
·  Communicate with the Product Manager to ensure alignment across product families
·  Clearly express the connections between larger business goals and small backlog items
·  Develop user stories allowing the team to contribute to the "what"/"how"
·  Say "no" when necessary to maximize the value of your product while articulating the why to interested parties
·  Prioritize outcomes to ensure work is being performed on the right things at the right times
·  Consistently plan, design, and assist in development for future extended warranty infrastructure, to support all applications and processes as IT environments evolve.

What Skills You Need

·  Experience prioritizing a backlog in response to change while assessing the impact of work in progress
·  Experience in the AGILE process for IT projects and deployment schedules (Product Strategy, Product Backlogs, Spring Reviews, Daily Stand-up Meetings)
·  Very Strong IT background in application and web development (coding), as well as infrastructure, design
·  Subject matter expertise in the John Deere Extended Warranty and how to develop solutions for this market (globally). Subject matter expertise should include specific-industry or technical knowledge
·  Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority. The ability to influence and work collaboratively with development teams is especially important
·  Excellent detailed written and verbal communication skills, possibly including some user interface documentation skills

 

What Makes You Stand Out

·  Experience working within Extended Warranty / Warranty environment
·  Knowledge of the Warranty processes within Deere Platform experience and connections
·  Experience in design, delivery and support of applications across Deere divisions and regions
·  Experience in application development and support, showing program growth/results
·  Experience working in/with business teams that deliver and support products/services that directly impact Deere dealers/customers

 

Education (or equivalent work experience)

·  Bachelor's degree in IT/Business or equivalent discipline
·  Masters Degree (MBA or Masters in Computer Management)
·  Certified Product Owner (Scrum.Org)
·  Certifications/Completion of Project Management
