Role Purpose

A Workplace Planner will explore and develop line of business workplace strategies, recommendations, and support implementation of those strategies and programs for our client.  The Workplace Planner leads the development and delivery of regional and/or market 3-5 year occupancy strategies and plans with focus on business unit impacts while considering enterprise strategies.  S/He is an expert in Client Relationship Management (CRM) and supports the client business partners assisting with cross-region business portfolio strategy.  The Workplace Planner supports the implementation of workplace programs, enterprise initiatives, and real estate portfolio strategies within our client’s organization. S/He will enhance and expand our existing workplace planning expertise and capabilities through research and development of new ideas, programs, tools, techniques, and processes.  S/He will enhance existing portfolio performance and develop new ways to meet client enterprise and business objectives of improving employee engagement in the workplace, optimize assets, and drive transformational change.

To be successful in this role, you should be able to ensure accurate reporting of information, and foster critical relationships between various individuals and organizations communication channels will exist with:

·  Acts as the primary contact and project design SME on business initiatives and projects to ensure timely and successful implementation of workplace planning initiatives that are compliant with corporate guidelines and business priorities
·  Builds and creates business case(s) with scenario options for strategic occupancy strategies for aligned regional and/or business unit(s) for client decision
·  Govern, recommend, educate, and enforce space policies/guidelines, procedures and protocols with the account team 
·  Manages and provides design support and guidance to project management by interfacing with the external design team to address and communicate design related intent and issues
·  Defines high-level program requirements with workstyle type and recommended work settings in combination with strategic portfolio and space analytics
·  Synthesizes data from internal and external sources in the development of strategic occupancy plans
·  Contributes to recommendations and client deliverables
·  Partners with internal and external team members to ensure that business objectives and strategic direction are achieved, implemented and maintained
·  Serves as a functional expert on business initiatives and project teams.
·  Participates in strategy and visioning sessions and cross-functional initiatives especially as they relate to the nature of work and business capabilities

Requirements

A Bachelor's Degree in Real Estate, Finance, Architecture, Design, Construction Management, or related field is required; also along with minimum of 7+ years of direct experience in corporate environment with focus in workplace strategy development, client relationship management and strategic business or space occupancy planning is required.  Previous experience with interior office renovations and migration planning is highly desirable.  CAFM system experience also highly desirable.

·  Process orientated and capacity to assess and shift priorities as required in order to ensure deadlines are met

You’ll need to be dynamic and technologically savvy and utilize software to support planning solutions and communicate ideas clearly with planning team and lines of businesses. You will be successful if you have advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot table, vlook-up, cell calculations), and AutoCAD (basic test-fits and square foot calculations). Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and ability to consolidate data and floor plans into Power Point for presentations to client and lines of business is highly valued. You’ll be effective in your role by learning to ask the right questions to understand the underlying needs of our clients. You’ll discover how to be proactive and innovative with solutions for your stakeholders.

Excellent communication skills are important – both written and spoken – and we’ll expect you to work independently, multi-task, and manage your time to meet deadlines. You keep on top of things as you’ll often need to reorganize your time day to day, to deal with your team’s changing necessities and requests. An individual with strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with executive level external and internal clients will be successful in the role. Most importantly, you’ll want to work as part of a diverse supportive and talented team.
