POSITION DESCRIPTION

TITLE: UPW Technician –Shift 5 Compressed Work Week

Department: Chandler, AZ Operations / Maintenance

Report To: Shift Group Leader

Job Description:

Operating and maintaining ultra-pure water systems which support High Volume Manufacturing Facility. Perform routine preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing Reverse Osmosis, Filtration, Ion Exchange, Ultra Violet Light Sterilization, etc.  Maintaining Analytical equipment and creating the Statistical reports. Performs troubleshooting and repair of chemical handling equipment and systems, mechanical, plumbing, hydraulic, and pneumatic. Identifies, investigates, and implements solutions to problems by using available resources for quality repairs and efficient operations. Stocks spare parts for inventory on critical equipment with special attention to cost savings, quality control and minimizing equipment down time. Required to work 12 hour per day compressed work week shift schedule.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements: AA/AS technical degree (Water / Purification Degree preferred) or equivalent technical degree and 0 - 3 years’ experience in Ultra-Pure water operations or Military service with a minimum of 0 - 3 years of related UPW work experience. - Applicants must have a legal right to work in the US without sponsorship Preferred Qualifications- David H. Paul UPW certification or equivalent would be an added advantage Facilities maintenance experience.

Essential Duties:

Inspect Feed system:

Inspect incoming lines for leaks, monitor incoming temperature, inspect pumps for noise or vibration, monitor MMF system delta, monitor incoming pH & monitor incoming conductivity.

Inspect Make-up system:

Inspect lines for leaks, monitor Incoming TOC, inspect pumps for noise or vibration, profile RO’s (3) Flow, chemical inventory and dosage, conductivity, pressures, flows & delta’s.

Inspect Primary system:

Inspect lines for leaks, monitor Incoming TOC, profile RO’s (2) Flow, chemical inventory and dosage, conductivity, pressures, flows & delta’s, inspect pumps for noise or vibration, check and adjust EDI flows, pressures and deltas, inspect mix bed flows, monitor PRI loop output for temperature, Resistivity and TOC.

UPW System: Inspect pumps for noise or vibration, inspect ultraviolet systems, monitor Fab Spec analytical points, inspect mix bed performance and filter performance.

CH3: Inspect pumps for noise or vibration, inspect ultraviolet systems, inspect DI bottles, monitor water quality though instrumentation TOC, Resistivity and filter performance.

CH4: Inspect pumps for noise or vibration, inspect lines for leaks, inspect ultraviolet systems, monitor water quality though instrumentation TOC, Resistivity and filter performance.

CH5: Inspect pumps for noise or vibration, inspect lines for leaks, inspect ultraviolet systems, monitor water quality though instrumentation and softener checks.

CH6: Inspect pumps for noise or vibration, inspect ultraviolet systems, inspect lines for leaks, inspect DI bottles, inspect RO for leaks and profile if running, monitor water quality though instrumentation Resistivity and filter performance.

CH7: Inspect pumps for noise or vibration, inspect lines for leaks, inspect ultraviolet systems and monitor water quality.

Other systems: AHU and Boiler water distribution, main RODI plant distribution to satellite locations.

Daily Routine:

Shift-to-Shift Pass-down

Review daily activity’s (Projects, Maximo)

Review e-mail from Managers, technicians and engineers

Review Maximo start center it may differ from pass-down

Perform Rounds and Readings

Complete PM’s and CM’s

Performs written reports and verbal pass downs to other shifts and technicians.
