Maintenance & Engineering Tech (RMET)

The SRMET position will be developed in a 24/7 industrial and logistic environment and implies the possession of technical competences of industrial or logistics maintenance activity, supporting senior level technicians (SRMETS). Main activity is anticipation or solving problems and repairing equipment meeting the deadlines, be on call for emergencies, ability to handle multiple projects and daily activities and meet time lines. Also includes the development of actions to accomplish departmental and team goals.

Main responsibilities:

·  Solve problems and maintain conveyor belt systems from an electrical and mechanical point of view.
·  Execute preventive maintenance plans and resolve operational tickets.
·  Ability to perform small electrical work around distribution panels, circuits, lighting and wiring.
·  Ability to solve problems in basic automation and control systems and their associated components such as photocells, motor starters, relays, proximity sensors and limit switches, timers, servomotors and drives, frequency inverters and encoders among others.
·  Keep, develop and enhance a good working relationship with all levels of the organization.
·  Ability to provide improvements in individual and team performance.
·  Ensure good practices around occupational safety and health.

Physical requirements:

·  Ability to work in a 24/7 industrial & logistic environment.
·  Ready to work on rotating shifts that may include overtime and bank holidays.
·  Regular physical activity including lifting and shifting weights of up to 49 pounds, movements and turns and back bends, stretching of limbs both below the waist and above the head.
·  Push and occasional trailing of loaded cars with up to 100 pounds.
·  Handling of tools and lifting machines.
·  Have the complete manual dexterity.
·  Ability to walk through scaffolding and gangways, up and down stairs without limitation to access all areas of the facilities.
·  Work in environments that may be sometimes noisy or not perfectly conditioned.
·  Remain standing or walking for long periods along the working day. Frequent walks along installations longer than a quarter of a mile.

Operational support & customer focus:

·  Promoting and conduct good housekeeping practices
·  Dedicated to supporting production by working in a safe, customer focused manner
·  Must be highly self-motivated and customer-centric, problem solution and continuous improvement oriented.

Knowledge and experience:

·  Degree in mechanics or electricity technical school.
·  Experience of 2 to 3 years in the electrical and mechanical areas of industrial or logistic environments.
·  IPAF certification (or similar depending on the country)
·  Certification or basic training in occupational safety and health.
·  Experience and competence in the following areas:
·  Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge in conveyor belt systems and industrial sorting systems (sorters and conveyors), replacement of bearings, rollers and diagnosis of mechanical parts.
·  Reading and understanding of electrical drawings and diagrams.
·  Preventive maintenance plans and programs.
·  Basic knowledge of industrial automation systems: PLC’s and its components, industrial communications (Ethernet), ability to understand ladder diagrams to solve problems.
·  Knowledge of pneumatic and compressed air systems.
·  Computer skills.

Preferred skills:

·  Sense of ownership and proactivity (bias for action).
·  Team work, but sometimes have the ability to work alone.
·  Demonstrated ability working in multitasking and prioritizing different projects and workloads.
·  Influence on other team members.
·  Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal).
