Job description


·  Assemble, install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems and components including pipes, fittings and fixtures of heating/cooling, water and drainage systems according to specifications.
·  Review building plans and specifications to determine the layout for plumbing and related materials including sequence of installation and materials needed.
·  Identify required tools and specialized equipment
·  Inspects structure to determine obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of existing structure resulting from installations
·  Select the type and size of pipe required
·  Locate and mark positions for connections, fittings, and fixtures
·  Cuts, threads, glues, solders, brazes piping systems.
·  Install supports and hangers for pipe, fixtures, and equipment
·  Assemble and install valves and fittings composed of metal, alloys, and non-metals such as plastics
·  Install, repair and maintain water treatment equipment, piping, and controls
·  Install, repair and maintain underground storm, sanitary, and water piping systems
·  Install, repair and maintain sinks, tubs, showers, and toilets
·  Install, repair and maintain water heaters and conditioners
·  Install, repair and maintain plumbing fixtures, appliances, and trim including sinks, commodes, water heaters, hot water tanks, water softeners, RO systems
·  Installs manufacturing equipment, air conditioning units, pumps, and ventilation fans.
·  Install and maintain domestic hot/cold water systems, compressed air, chilled water, condensers, steam, water systems, steam and conveyance of matter as required
·  Test pipe systems and fixtures for leaks
·  Fills piping systems with water/air, nitrogen and verifies pressure gauges, readings
·  Responds and repairs plumbing problems such as leaky faucets, burst piping, opening clogged drains in a clean, neat, organized, and workmen like manner.
·  Knowledge of OSHA standards, Plumbing standards and local codes and the ability to work safe.

Maintain all building codes, installation requirements, and relevant legislative requirements

·  Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance service on plumbing systems, fittings, and fixtures
·  Ensure all requirements as specified by the manufacturer of systems and fittings are met
·  Ensure all installations, repairs, and maintenance meet the requirements of the appropriate codes
·  Ensure all installations, repairs, modifications, and maintenance meet environmental protection requirements

Administer and Schedule Work

·  Assists in preparing project and departmental budgets
·  Prepares orders of supplies
·  Keeps daily reports, records, rounds and reading for assigned equipment
·  Schedules and coordinates own work in cooperation with other Technicians
·  Maintains appropriate service repair work order records electronically.
·  Responds to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service.
·  May assist in the training of other team members in the area of facilities maintenance.
·  Assists and serves as back-up to other Facilities employees.
·  The ability to work cooperatively with other technicians, supervisors, engineers, and managers
