Water Features Technician

Summary:

We are looking to hire a detail-oriented Water Features Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair piping, motors, chlorinators and screens This qualified person will be skilled in cleaning, adjusting and repairing systems. You will be responsible for systems from installation to end-of-life by performing maintenance, warranty and emergency repairs.

To be successful in this role, Safety, customer satisfaction, and accountability will be your top priority. Ideal candidates will be patient and have excellent multi-tasking organizational and troubleshooting skills.

·  Visually checking all the equipment for functioning or leaks this include: pipes, filters, motors, chlorinators and screen. (Twice a day morning and afternoon) by Commons, Wellness 3-4, Energy 3-4, Waterfall by Energy center, and mirror pools by Energy Center.
·  Take readings and adding chemicals in order to balance the water’s chemistry (twice a week or more as needed when we have heavy rain, storms or weather conditions change too much)
·  Summer demands more chemicals and preventive conditions of the water due to fast evaporation, high temperatures and sunlight affect chlorine levels.  
·  Checking water levels and pressures (add water as needed)
·  Backwashed filters at least once a week (twice or more when we have hard weather conditions)
·   Cleaning filters: filter pump and Water features’ pump once a week or more during fall season. All equipment by tunnel, waterfall and Vault.
·  Cleaning skimmer baskets big pools Energy center (60 in total)
·  Brush pools sides (normally daily task)
·  Vacuuming big water features (daily task)
·  Clean leaves and other debris from pools (daily task)
·   Brush water features by Commons (once a week or more as needed), add chemicals weekly
·  Clean underground equipment by commons’ water features (three or four times per year)
·  Adding muriatic acid to the big container (vault by Energy center) normally twice per month.
·  Getting chemicals by Conroe (normally every two weeks).
·  Preventive maintenance to all equipment two or three times per year. 
·  Perform repairs to equipment. (Pumps, seals, pipes or others).

Must be a team player committed to working in a quality environment. Will require daily interaction with teams in person, on the phone, and via email in order to perform the job.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA)

Possess hands on skills and knowledge to complete required repairs and maintenance on commercial. to install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair piping, motors, chlorinators and screens Performing emergency repairs safely, promptly and efficiently. Able to retain technical direction and on-the-job training. Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions. Ensuring compliance of vendors with Site specific safety rules and Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Ability to effectively use computers and computer programs (including use of Microsoft Office Suite), skill in use of the internet to navigate to and use web-based applications, and ability to use handheld electronic devices (PDA, Blackberry, cell phone, etc.).

Possess excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to effectively manage diverse relationships with team members, contractors, building occupants and clients.

Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

Self-starter with strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.

Minimum Required Education:

3 years’ experience preferred
