HSE Advisor - The Crown Estate, London

Responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of appropriate health, safety and environmental mitigation controls, policies, procedures and guidance to deliver the JLL HSE Strategy. The role is specifically an embedded resource working on the Central London Crown Estate Portfolio and under the direction of the Senior HSE Manager.

OBJECTIVE OF ROLE

Responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of appropriate health, safety and environmental mitigation controls, policies, procedures and guidance to deliver the JLL HSE Strategy. The role is specifically an embedded resource working on the Central London Crown Estate Portfolio and under the direction of the Senior HSE Manager.

TEAM STRUCTURE

The role reports directly to the Senior HSE Manager (Crown Estate Client), and within the wider IFM (Investor Facilities Management) HSE Team.

GENERAL ROLES & DUTIES

·  Assist with the ongoing improvements of JLL’s safety and environmental management systems in accordance with the requirements of ISO45001 and ISO 14001. The successful applicant will assist with the continued accreditation to both standards during annual surveillance audits
·  Assist with the development and reviewing of appropriate objectives, targets and improvement programmes in conjunction with the Senior HSE Manager
·  Assist with the monitoring and reporting on HSE performance and progress against HSE objectives to the Senior HSE Manager and facilities management team for The Crown Estate. Routinely assisting with presentations at facilities management team meetings and steering groups to increase HSE awareness and engagement.
·  Assisting with the development of appropriate training programmes, methods of delivery and evaluation of effectiveness to ensure employees are competent in their health, safety and environmental duties
·  Assist with the development of appropriate arrangements to ensure that risks from supply partners are vetted, managed and effectively controlled. Assist with managing and monitor the activities of external consultants operating on behalf of PAM and IFM
·  Providing support and technical advice to all Facilities Managers and Property Managers to enable them to undertake their roles and responsibilities for health, safety and the environment
·  Working closely with our PAM and IFM business support teams (Sustainability, Procurement, Engineering, HR etc) to support operational growth in line with business objectives
·  Monitoring changes in legislation and best practice to ensure continuing legal compliance and best practice in the UK
·  Assist with undertaking investigations of incidents and accidents; addressing incident circumstances, incident causation and reporting on improvements that could be made for the future
·  Help liaise with external enforcement bodies and insurance inspections as well as clients in order to satisfy key stakeholder requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

·  Experience of operating in a complex, commercial environment
·  Proven record of delivering targets
·  Ability to understand and analyse information to be able to recommend informed solutions to problems
·  Ability to work with internal and external contacts at all management levels
·  NEBOSH – General Certificate (or equivalent) - Essentia l
·  Able to influence third parties to achieve desired safety outcome
·  Good commercial awareness
·  Customer focused – internal and external
·  Results orientated
·  Able to work effectively alone and as part of a multi-functional team
·  Able to promote a positive health, safety and environmental culture
·  Competent IT skills
·  NEBOSH – Environmental Certificate (or equivalent) – desired
·  NEBOSH – Fire Certificate (or equivalent) – desired
·  NEBOSH – Construction (or equivalent) – desired
·  GradIOSH – desired
·  AIEMA – desired
