Data Engineer

Job description

The Data Engineer is part of a team of data analysts/engineers and has overall responsibility for maintaining and directing the ongoing development of the data infrastructure and analytics platform, that serves as the foundation for JLL client’s global real estate portfolio planning function, based in Mapletree Business City. 
 

The Data Engineer will oversee the following functions:

· 
Design, develop, test and maintain data architectures for greater scalability and functionality

· 
Ensure data architecture and system will support the requirements of the business

· 
Discover opportunities for data acquisition from other data sources 

· 
Develop dataset processes for data modelling, mining and production

· 
Recommend ways to improve data reliability, delivery efficiency and quality

· 
Participate in building the long term vision on data infrastructure and platform

Skills and qualifications:

· 
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics or a related discipline

· 
3+ years as a data engineer and a passion for technology

· 
Practical experience in either of these technologies: SQL, Spark, Scala, Python, Java

· 
Pride in ownership, initiative and collaboration

· 
Effective communicator, problem solver and ability to execute with minimal supervision

· 
Solid commitment to quality designs, automated testing and documentation

Preferred: 

· 
Experience in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

· 
Client-facing experience with stakeholder management

· 
Experience in devops is a plus
