InterContinentalHayman Island Resort in the Great Barrier Reef is an ultra-luxury private island resort currently undergoing restoration and construction works. With the resort reopening in July 2019 to guests, we are seeking engaged and motivated professionals to be a part of our ongoing team. We currently have an opportunity for an Refrigeration Technician to join the team on island for this exciting journey.

Your day to day

If you'd like to embrace a wider world of experiences and opportunities, we'd like to welcome you to the world's most international luxury hotel brand as a Refrigeration Technician; a key role in our dynamic live on island team who keeps the resort running smoothly and is vital to our guest's experience. Reporting to Engineering Manager, you’ll maintain all refrigeration and HVAC operations of the resort to keep it operating with minimal interruptions and running like clockwork.

Your key duties and responsibilities will include:

· Repairing all manner of Refrigeration and HVAC issues around Resort · Work must be to the highest standard ensuring 5 Star standards are maintained.

· All work to meet current standards and codes of practice.

· Diagnose and find solutions to Refrigeration & HVAC problems around the resort

· Proactively showing initiative with ideas, problem solving, amendments and providing regular updates.

· Undertake work from CMS System, prioritising works that are needed to be completed.

· Manage parts usage and ordering for all electrical consumables.

· Working as needed to assist the wider Engineering team. · Assisting in any after hour emergencies as required.

 

What we need from you

As the ideal candidate will have a history and background in Commercial,Industrial or Residential Plumbing. Minimum qualifications are as follows;

· Trade Qualification (AirConditioning/Refrigeration Mechanic)

· Refrigerant Handling Licence · Refrigerant Handling Licence · Drivers Licence · Construction Card

· Australian Citizen or hold the appropriate work rights to work within Australia.

Desirables;

· Electrical licence and relevant experience

· CPR/LVR Certificate
