Job SummaryUnder the general direction of the Rooms Division Manager, and within the limits of established IHG and local Hotel policies and procedures, and in accordance to the pre-set washing formulas, is responsible for washing a number of loads or kilograms of linen per day, ensuring quality of work
Your day to day
Essential Duties and Responsibilities  Washes all soiled linen ensuring maximum care that no damage occurs during loading and unloading. Sorts all linen and ensures that only one classification is washed at any one time. Loads and unloads the washing machines and dryers as appropriate. Follows the pre-set washing formulas and ensures that it is operating to established standards. Adjusts steam temperature in accordance to type of linen to be washed. Feeds into the washing machine all necessary chemicals, detergents, sour. Checks automatic chemicals feeding system for proper functions and ensures that all low level alarms for the chemicals are operational. Checks daily that the amount of chemicals, detergents is sufficient. Informs the Laundry supervisor in case of shortage so that store requisitions can be completed in advance. Ensures that bleach and alkalinity are neutralized after washing. Ensures that washing machines are always loaded to factory rated capacity. For damp linens (like terry) adjusts loading to meet dry weight loading capacity of machine. Dries all fluff work for Hotel guests. Ensures recommended temperature for each load in accordance with established standards. Operates tumblers in accordance with adequate operating instructions. Checks the unit drawer frequently and cleans it as required. Dries and folds all colleagues garments and all Hotel linen using the proper machinery or manually as appropriate. Dries all uniforms which do not need pressing following the standard cooling cycle in accordance with operating procedures. Reports any malfunctioning of equipment’s to the Laundry supervisor. Demonstrates understanding and awareness of all company Policies and Procedures relating to Health, Hygiene and Fire life Safety.
