Your day to day
Join us as a Captain. You’ll have ambition, talent and obviously, some key skills. For this vital role, we’re looking for someone who will be responsible for: People• Punctual in attendance to check station is fully equipped to render service to guests.• Makes sure that all staff are following and maintaining the highest quality standards of operation in accordance with hotel service procedures• Coordinates with Kitchen and Bar with regard to menus, wines, buffet, out-of-stock items and other significant details that are important to the outlet• Performs other duties as required by the Outlet Supervisor or Manager. Guest Experience• Guest satisfaction must always be checked and any problems encountered must be relayed to Outlet Supervisor Responsible Business• Co-operate with the company to achieve compliance with FLS legislation• Take moral and legal responsibility for conducting themselves in their work so they do not expose themselves or others to risk• Read, understand, and implement the relevant sections of the FLS Policy• Sign the Employees' Declaration having read and understood the relevant sections of the FLS Policy• Not promote or participate in horseplay, pranks, or practical jokes, which may result in an accident or injury• Not intentionally or recklessly interfering with anything provided in the interests of safety• Report all accidents, dangerous occurrences, or hazards, no matter how minor, to the supervisor or Heads of Department• Make careful use of safety equipment, such as gloves, goggles, aprons, overalls, shoes, and so on• Return safety equipment to its designated storage area after use, and reporting any equipment damage to the supervisor• Take reasonable care when storing, handling, and using chemicals and dangerous substances, lifting and carrying, and using or cleaning dangerous work equipment, including machines• Not undertake any activity which compromises their personal FLS, or the FLS of others Financial• Recommends to promote up-selling and take orders from the guest, follows up and ensure that this is carried out to the last detail• Responsible for settling House Accounts, Room Charges, Officers Checks, Cash and Credit Card Payments, and City Ledgers in Micros. Responsible as well in the remittance of Cash and Cash Floats at the end of each shift Accountability• Supervise all Waiters and Waitress working in his shift.
What we need from you
Qualifications: • Ideally, a diploma/degree in the hospitality field with a minimum of 2 years of experience in hospitality.• Good knowledge in both written and spoken English and a wide familiarity with Micros would be desirable.• Previous experiences in minor leadership and supervisory roles are a definite plus. The ideal candidate will be customer driven and an extremely proactive person
