Your day to day

If you'd like to embrace a wider world of experiences and opportunities, we'd like to welcome you to the world's most international luxury hotel brand as a full time Event Services Supervisor, a key role in our Food & Beverage team focused on bringing the InterContinental Life alive across our conferencing and events within the resort. A part of our Food & Beverage leadership team, you’ll work alongside the Assistant Event Services Managers to support in co-ordinating the day to day banquet operations across the Resort and on occasion work within our Restaurants & Bars. From managing inventory and ordering stock, to monitoring rosters and completing time sheet approvals, in this role you will be a go to for the team and manage their performance on shift.

With your key focus being on our bespoke events, you will work closely with the event planning team to deliver smooth and efficient service and execute events. And in addition work in partnership with other areas of the Resort as well as with your dynamic and experienced team to continuously drive and identify product and guest experience enhancement opportunities. You will support the Food & Beverage Leadership team with encouraging and developing the team to deliver branded service whilst promoting the desired work culture.

What we need from you

As the ideal candidate, you will have 1-3 years’ experience in food and beverage in a leadership role, working in a hotel or resort with multiple restaurant & bar offerings and a large banquet operation and be ready for your next step. You will have an eye for detail and be an enthusiastic and approachable person who is motivated to take ownership and consistently deliver a unique guest experience. Possessing a Queensland Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate, ideally you will have at least six months experience in a banqueting role and will be looking to join a vibrant, professional and motivated team that will give you the platform to further develop and build your food and beverage career.

Demonstrated ability to work with guests and champion a brand is also a must along with a desire to begin to grow your leadership and take on responsibility around the day to day operation beyond working on the floor.  Flexibility to work a varied roster including, late evenings, weekends and public holidays in order to support the operation alongside holding Australian work rights and driver’s license is also required.
