Job Summary (Role Summary)

Under general supervision, perform desktop analysis on hotel revenue compliance audits relative to the License Agreement on franchise hotels. Report findings to Corporate liaisons. Analyze findings and leverage insights to prioritize audits and improve process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Key Activities)

·  Plan and conduct compliance audits of franchise hotels, for the Americas, to verify that gross room revenues are reported in accordance with the Franchise License Agreement. Prepare audit reports and documentation, in accordance with department standards, for review by management. 
·  Assist in the ongoing development and implementation of streamlined audit procedures to improve the quality and efficiency of franchise audits and to better detect deficiencies/exceptions. Work with other franchise-related departments to address ambiguity in the License Agreement, corporate procedures, and franchise relations.
·  Assist in developing the risk assessments of franchise hotels to ensure adequate audit coverage.
·  Apply analytical techniques to one or more disciplines. Perform statistical analyses and create accurate charts, tables and graphs in the correct format and within established time frames as required. Select and use appropriate software to effectively analyze data.  Compile and analyze information. Effectively communicate findings and recommendations to appropriate hotel and corporate staff.
·  Ensure compliance with internal auditing standards and practices in the planning, conducting and documenting of audits and for all reports prepared. Notify management of changes needed in department standards.  Determine if discrepancies in reporting warrant notification of Risk Management to investigate possible fraudulent activity.

What we need from you

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of work (Internal Audit, Accounting or Finance, hotel management) or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience. 

Experience

Typically 4 – 7 years progressive work experience in Corporate Accounting, Internal Audit, hotel operations or related field, with demonstrated proficiency in multiple disciplines/processes related to the position.

Technical skills and Knowledge

·  Analytical and conceptual skills in developing efficient business solutions
·  Ability to work in a dynamic environment with frequent changing priorities
·  Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of revenue reporting standards and procedures in a hotel or similar environment.
·  Demonstrated clear, concise and succinct communication skills, including the ability to adapt verbal and written communication to the needs and level of the audience. Demonstrated ability to use consultative or persuasive communication skills to effectively implement programs or resolve compliance issues with hotel managers.  Demonstrated experience in conflict management.
·  Demonstrated ability to effectively manage time and priority.
·  Demonstrated ability to maintain a consistent, high quality customer-focused orientation, and to respond to individuals in manner and timeframe promised, or follow up to explain status.
·  Demonstrated strong problem solving skills required.
·  Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks required.
