We are seeking engaged and experienced professionals to be a part of our ongoing leadership team. We currently have an opportunity for an Assistant Executive Housekeeper join the world class team for this exciting journey in this live on island role.If you'd like to embrace a wider world of experiences and opportunities, we'd like to welcome you to the world's most international luxury hotel brand as the Assistant Executive Housekeeper, a key role in our Rooms Division Team supporting the Executive Housekeeper in setting the direction of and managing the day to day of the Housekeeping operation and team. A role that will expose you to a wide range of rewarding challenges and high end clientele working across a mix of business, leisure and corporate markets.

Your day to day

You will support a team of approximately 40 including Supervisors, Team Leaders, Coordinators, Housepersons, Linen Attendants, Public Area Attendants and Room Attendants to co-ordinate the day to day Housekeeping operation in order to achieve set financial, people and guest experience targets. You will also be a key driver of creating a culture where the InterContinental Life is at the core of all offerings and service across the resort.

You will be responsible for daily allocations of duties across the team, inspection of guest rooms and public areas, supporting the team operationally and maintaining high standards of resort cleanliness and productivity. You will also be proactive in implementing new ways of working that will drive productivity and work in partnership with other areas of the resort to continuously drive and identify revenue, product and guest experience enhancement opportunities. It will be critical that you have a strong focus on developing your team to create a positive and productive work environment; building, motivating and upskilling them to ensure they are highly engaged and deliver results.

What we need from you

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years experience both in hospitality, leadership and working in a large complex hotel in a housekeeping environment with proven ability to manage and develop employees, improve guest satisfaction and maintain costs to ensure maximum profit and standards are achieved. A proactive approach to developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and internal and external stakeholders will be fundamental to your success. You must also hold the appropriate work rights to work within Australia and be flexible to work weekends and evenings as required to support the resorts operations.

Previous exposure to a remote island environment would be a plus. However if you’re an organised and confident housekeeping professional who wants to utilise their strong technical skills and passion for building engaged teams, this new, diverse and challenging environment will also be for you.
