Job description

This position resides in Markham, Ontario and is a 8-month (internship) work term commencing May 2020 . It is mandatory that all applicants are enrolled in full-time studies at a post-secondary institution and returning to full-time studies upon completion of the work term.

As part of the innovation team, this role will tackle several projects with responsibilities centered primarily around understanding business problems & users as well as creating workflows & design artifacts for proofs of concept. This will involve the creation of goals, stories, user workflows, interaction patterns, low & high fidelity mockups, demos and other graphical elements for user interfaces. You should be a self-starter, creative in your thinking about design issues, have knowledge of design principles and design thinking methodologies, communication and documentation skills, and be able to work with a wide variety of people - both face-to-face and via web conference calls.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

·  Co-op or internship program enrollment is mandatory
·  Can demonstrate experience with key design tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch, Invision, etc.
·  Can demonstrate design skills through creation of user experiences as well as visually compelling artifacts, icons, mockups, etc.
·  Portfolio of previous work must be presented that shows an understanding of visual and UX design
·  Proven communication skills and an ability to drill down to a customer's requirements
·  Comfortable working in a dynamic, team based environment
·  An awesome and positive attitude
