IBM DevOps for z Systems is looking for a user experience (UX) to join our team:
·  Work hands-on creating interface and visual design solutions
·  Team with user experience designers, visual designers, design researchers, and developers to ensure visual design enhances the overall user experience of our products
·  Contribute to storyboards and task flows designs, effectively communicating visual intentions to the design team and sponsor users
·  Work with design researchers to understand stakeholders, users, and the markets in which they operate
·  Collaborate on user experience planning with the team's UX lead
·  Consult with architect, product leads and key stakeholders
·  Ability to interview and listen to the customer
·  Ability to create persona from interviews
·  Create a study to validate an experience and analyze the findings
·  Create surveys and analyze the findings
·  Make recommendations to improve the experience based on research findings
·  Present research findings to the team using methods to build empathy
·  Promote a user-first approach to the stated problem
·  Possess a fundamental awareness of enterprise, technology, developer, and design trends
·  Evangelize the importance of Enterprise Design Thinking and educate product teams that are new to design research methods in order to help them integrate real users into their design lifecycle

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

·  Experience with design thinking and small group facilitation
·  Can convert user research findings and ideas into design
·  Can express a user's journey through stories and various mapping techniques
·  Create interactive wire frames using tools like Sketch and Invision or similar systems
·  Good understanding of prevalent design patterns and their application in a design
·  Understand the capabilities and limitations of enterprise web-based applications
·  Basic understanding of visual design practices
·  Ability to write a detailed design specification
·  Ability to bring a design through the development process
·  Knowledgeable in Agile development practices
·  Familiar with developer tasks of coding, debug, testing, and build using modern development tools like VS Code, Github, Jenkins, and so on
·  Working coding knowledge in modern languages and scripts such as Java, JavaScript, Python, and so on

·  2+ years of work in the field of design
·  Ability to work in a team with product team (Design, Offering Management, Development)
·  Willingness to learn about development on IBM Z and emerging UI technologies
·  At least 2 years of experience using Sketch, Adobe Creative Cloud, and/or other design tools
·  Secondary skills in Interaction Design
·  Excellent creative, conceptual, and problem solving skills
·  Exceptional attention to detail
·  Outstanding storytelling and presentation skills
·  Strong strategic skills in assessing business and user scenarios, approaches, and deliverables
·  Knowledge of industry standard design & user interaction tools
·  Working knowledge of how compositions translate to HTML and CCS used to deliver feasible designs
·  Ability to work with-in a cross-functional team and handle mulitiple projects with tight deadlines
