We are currently recruiting Technical Support Profession - AMS - Big Data Platform for a 6 month fixed term contract, based in Sydney.

Role and responsibility

The Technical Support Profession - AMS - Big Data Platform is responsible for 24/7 production support of the big data platform. Your responsibilities include –

·  Receive, analyse and resolve production issues related to Big Data Platform (Hortonworks Distribution)
·  Configure and Manage Hortonworks Platform on Azure cloud as Hadoop administrator.
·  Install and configure minor & major upgrades and patches of Hadoop Eco System
·  Manage Hadoop services for development, data ingestion, data masking, file encryption etc
·  Manage the configuration of Application Services in Hadoop Stack.
·  Setup, configure and manage security for Hadoop clusters (Ranger Plugins, Ranger ACLs, Hadoop ACLs, Hive, HBase
·  Monitoring Hadoop cluster connectivity, security and Alerts
·  Performing Scheduled and Adhoc Snapshots, Backup and recovery for Hadoop Cluster
·  Log Analysis for Service Check failures and Job Failures.
·  Debug application issue related to coding, functionality of features available in Hadoop Stack
·  Troubleshooting on the jobs that run on big data platform.
Required experienced

To ensure success in the role you will possess the following skills –
·  At least 2 years of Hadoop Platform Deployment & Administration experience (Hortonworks Distribution)
·  At least 1 year experience with Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure (Redhat Linux)
·  2 years of big data platform performance tuning and testing of Hadoop clusters and Hadoop MapReduce routines.
·  Hands on experience in installation and configuration of Hadoop components (Hortonworks Distribution)
·  Solid skills in Unix/Linux Administration and Good knowledge with infrastructure, network, hardware and software.
·  Certified Hortonworks Hadoop admin and Microsoft Azure Admin is preferred.
Compensation package from $97,500 (full-time equivalent inclusive of superannuation) and will be determined based on successful candidates relevant skills and experience.
