System Database Administrator-SQL Server

Job description

As a System Database Administrator (SQL Server) you will have the expertise to ensure the performance, integrity and security of the SQL databases. You will be involved in the planning and development of the database, as well as in troubleshooting any issues on behalf of the users.

Key System Database Administrator responsibilities include the following:
·  Installation, configuration, upgrading, administration, monitoring & maintenance of SQL databases
·  Plan, co-ordinate & implement security measures to safeguard the database
·  Controlling access permissions and privileges
·  Monitoring and Reporting on the Sizing of the Databases
·  Developing, managing and testing back-up and recovery plans
·  Ensuring that storage, archiving, back-up and recovery procedures are functioning correctly
·  Restoration of databases from backup if required
·  Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity
·  Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required
·  Ensure day to day operations of the systems

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

·  At least 5-year experience working as SQL database administrator
·  Excellent knowledge of SQL Server 2012, SQL Server, 2008 R2, SQL Server 2008 and SQL Server 2005. Fair knowledge on SQL Server 2014.
·  Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity and SQL
·  Fair knowledge on Windows clustering - Windows 2008 R2, Windows 2012 and Windows 2012 R2.
·  Practical experience troubleshooting performance problems, query tuning and optimization.
·  Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Greek and English language
