Job description

Site Reliability Engineer, IBM Corporation, Durham, NC: Lead team to determine engineering standards, guide adoption and evolution of these standards, and facilitate discussions. Provide technical mentoring and coaching for junior team members. Lead team to build and evolve technical strategy. Evaluate technology and architecture proposals. Maintain a strong security posture, continuously consider security threats and carefully manage security risks. Apply modern software engineering practices, and work to continuously improve our systems. Work with team members and with stakeholders to drive effective tradeoff decisions, and to make tradeoffs visible. Utilize Unix/Linux Systems, Networking Fundamentals, troubleshooting complex systems including OS, Network, and application code, DevOps, Continuous Delivery, Continuous Deployment, Programming Skill in Go, Python, or NodeJS, Basic Security Knowledge. Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related and two (2) years of experience as a Software Engineer or related. Two (2) years of experience must include utilizing Unix/Linux Systems, Networking Fundamentals, troubleshooting complex systems including OS, Network, and application code, DevOps, Continuous Delivery, Continuous Deployment, Programming Skill in Go, Python, or NodeJS, Basic Security Knowledge.
