Security Operations Engineer

Job description

The Satellite Link Security Operations engineer is responsible for managing the Security posture of Satellite link. Satellite link is core IBM technology to connect IBM public cloud to customer locations around the world. You will work closely with all of the developers of Satellite and Satellite Link to ensure timely and secure delivery of all of the micro-services. Satellite not only has to operate securely, but provide security details to Satellite customers. This role will maintain existing industry compliance and help develop new compliance for large enterprise customers within the Satellite product.

What You'll Do:

Design, develop, and maintain security compliance within the satellite product
Contribute to the maintenance of security vulnerabilities and update the software with the pipeline to remove issues with vulnerabilities.
Work with IBM security experts to overcome operational challenges to deliver security as a service within the product
Create training materials for SREs, Developers, and customers on interacting with and consuming the Satellite with specific instructions to operate under specific compliance.
Work closely with development to improve the timeliness of rolling out new code and make it easier to interact with the pipeline.
Pager Duty coverage for Satellite Link as required.
Participate in the Satellite security teams strategy development and delivery

Who You Are:

Industry experience operating security compliance such as SOC-2, FIPS 140-2, FFIEC, etc.
Experience implementing cloud solutions under security compliance
Experience developing new software in an agile methodology securely
Understand cloud native principles and the difference in legacy infrastructure security methods vs new cloud security methods
Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Able to work independently, with a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to teamwork. You have a volunteer spirit with a 'we succeed as a team' attitude.
Able to be agile with dynamic schedules and priorities.
Like to solve challenging problems and think of new ways to deliver better content to our clients

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

·  Familiarity with SOC2, FFIEC, HIPAA, FIPS 140-2 compliance.
·  Experience undergoing and defending audits (for any SOC2, FFIEC, HIPAA, FIPS 140-2 compliance.)
·  Experience teaching enterprise users how to operate within compliance
·  Product security knowledge
