Job description

IBM Research seeks a researcher to join our quantum computing team at the Almaden Research Center in San Jose, CA.

IBM Quantum is a world class research team that encompasses both theory, experiment, and software development. We work to build, test, and run demonstrations on state-of-the-art quantum systems. We are seeking talented researchers to join a team focused on designing and implementing quantum applications, benchmarks, and other multi-qubit experiments. The successful candidate will have a background experiment or theory in the areas of quantum applications, quantum control, or quantum information theory. This position will require close collaboration between theory, experiment, and software teams.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• At least 5 years of experience in quantum computing or quantum simulation theory or experiment
• At least 3 years research experience in quantum control, algorithms, applications, or related areas
• Proven record of research and accomplishment
• Programming experience (Python preferred)
