Job description
The Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure Research Department at the IBM T. J. Watson Research Center works in various areas including systems-level innovation, Linux kernel innovation, cloud management software, and acceleration of innovation to cloud. We are seeking Research Scientists to explore infrastructure that provides a secure, high-availability, high-performance cloud platform that spans public cloud, private cloud, and on-premises IT. We are seeking a wide range of experiences, and we encourage both recent graduates and experienced researchers to apply.
As a Research Scientist in the Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure Research Department, you will be responsible for research and development in design and optimization of secure, scalable, and high-performing Kubernetes infrastructure components including CNI (Common Network Interface), API server, controllers, schedulers, and Kubelet. You should be proficient in performance characterization at system level including VMs, virtual networks, and resource schedulers. Knowledge with large-scale distributed systems and security in cloud systems is highly desirable. You will be interacting with multiple Research and product teams, and you will be expected to define and lead technical projects within the department.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
· 3 years experience in Golang, Python, C/C++ programming, and strong expertise in one of them
