Remote Support Engineer - Storage - Coop (Markham, ON)

Job description


This position resides in Markham, Ontario and is a 4 (Coop) month work term commencing May 2020 . It is mandatory that all applicants are enrolled in full-time studies at a post-secondary institution and returning to full-time studies upon completion of the work term.As a member of the Systems Remote Support Team, you would be responsible for providing remote assistance to IBM Clients and providing direction to IBM field engineers.

Responsibilities:
·  Resolve Hardware/Software Support requests for IBM storage products.
·  Provide remote technical support to clients and IBM onsite technical personnel.
·  Provide answers for general usage and operation questions.
·  Perform troubleshooting and provide problem determination / problem source identification.
·  Develop Action Plans to resolve technical issues leveraging a range of tools, techniques, knowledge bases and processes
·  Review diagnostic information to assist in problem isolation, which may include interpreting traces and dump files.
·  Identify known defects and fixes to resolve issues.
·  Interpret online manuals regarding IBM code and Hosts Interoperability dependencies.
·  Collaborate with other IBM support teams and business units to provide seamless support.
·  Demonstrate soft skills and technical skills that contributes to client satisfaction
·  Require Flexible schedule to support 24x7 shift operations and on-call coverage (as required)

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

·  Customer-first mindset with high sense of ownership
·  Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
·  Experience with support processes and procedures would be an advantage
·  Good computer literacy, OS, including MS Office
·  Flexibility and ability to deliver under demanding circumstances
