Job description

IBM Q is seeking an experienced Software Engineer candidate working with IBM's quantum computing development team, capable of working with evolving specifications and requirements. Primary responsibility will be to join the Cloud services development team working on improvement of the existing platform for quantum computing services and implementing the next generation of infrastructure for this evolving technology to enable future scalability. Projects may also include building/improve the software architecture and functionality for quantum computing research and product teams. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience working in similar roles in the past with preferred experience in understanding the Open Source culture with a strong involvement and focus in helping having a successful Open Source community. The candidate must also be able to work with an interdisciplinary team of scientists, engineers and clients

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related technical field
Experience working with or/and leading software engineering teams
Expertise and hands-on experience in programming in one or more of these languages: Python, C, C++, Rust, Java, JavaScript
Expertise and experience contributing in Open Source projects
Expertise in operating in technologies like OpenStack, Docker, SQL, REST and tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, Gerrit
Expertise in applying software development best practices and standards for building rock-solid solutions. Expertise in profiling and performance analysis.
Expertise and experience in automating and maintaining infrastructure & building scalable cloud services
Advanced skill level in solving analytical problems using rigorous and quantitative approaches
Experience working with multiple stakeholders in the organization and facilitating decision-making
Experience and ability to deliver in a time-constrained environment
