Job description

IBM Ireland are looking for an Attorney/Lawyer who will verify the compliance with FCPA and other anti-corruption laws. As part of this role, the you will be involved in the review of IBM transactions with third parties (business partners, suppliers and landlords) at EMEA or WW level, as applicable. In particular, the successful candidate will need to assess the red flags and understand the legal risks associated. In addition, the attorney might be involved in other internal controls.

As part of this role, the attorney does not need to have a deep knowledge of anticorruption legislation, but the following skills are required
·  Strong ability to analyse different scenarios and understand the legal risks associated – all transactions have different legal concerns
·  Fast learner of IBM processes, applicable legislations and IBM business model
·  Ability to handle multiple requests
·  Ability to handle urgent situations and pressure
·  Ability to handle different stakeholders: the attorney will closely work with local attorneys and regional compliance officers, but also with IBM business.
·  Ability to handle business expectations and escalations
·  Ability to work in the team

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

The candidate will be part of IBM legal department and as such will also have the possibility and opportunity to focus on other general legal matters such as deal support (procurement legal support, Transactional support with private and public clients, etc.). As part of this role the candidate needs to have following skills
·  good knowledge of contractual law
·  negotiation background and skills
·  ability to learn fast especially IBM processes, IBM main brands and products, IBM business needs. The attorney will cover both areas with future possibility to further specialize in any of the two areas. Both areas offer possibility of growth and career opportunities for the candidate.
Curiosity and interest in IT as well as multiple languages skills are highly sought after.
