Junior Linux IT Administrator (German speaking)

Job description

We are looking for Linux administrators who will specialize in configuring and maintaining Linux-based servers and also configure user access and maintain system stability and data security through deployment and migration.

This is a role which requires extensive familiarity with Linux servers and frequently involves user support tasks. As a Linux administrator, you will apply your expertise with the Linux operating system to support day-to-day system performance, and prevent data loss and unauthorized access.

Responsibilities and Tasks

The Linux administrator role encompasses back-end IT support for business-critical and development-related departments and personnel.

Linux administrators use their knowledge of the Linux operating system and server administration to enable a reliable IT environment for clients.

Technical Tasks:

Configure Linux Servers

Provide Technical Support and Guidance

Perform System Maintenance

Monitor System Performance

Build System Back-ups

Maintain System Security

Non-Technical Tasks

Problem Determination / Problem Source Identification

Standard Resolution Process, identify and apply known problems

Usage of test equipment & remote tools

Action plan Creation

Problem management, Remote Fix, Apply patches and Workarounds

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Understanding of Linux Administration

Experience working in Linux environments

IT Experience

Very good command of both German and English language

Basic skills in Linux scripting

ITIL foundation

Provide On duty Services one week (up to 5 times a year)

Linux Administrator certificate (i.e. RHCSA)

ITIL foundation certification

Building IT Architectures in Linux environments

At least 2 Years of experience in Linux Administration
