Job description



A junior OpenPages Consulting Engineer is responsible for assisting customers with implementation and deployment of OpenPages custom deliverables and configuration.
Typically, 80% of the time is spent implementing customer requirements:

·  developing custom deliverables like triggers and helpers (mainly in Java and JavaScript)
·  communication with external systems and application configuration. In addition to writing code, the developer will be responsible for installing the OpenPages software components.
The remaining 20% of the time will be spent:
·  assisting with the development of delivery requirements
·  supporting business development activities,
·  and sharing expertise within the OpenPages Professional Services community via knowledge sharing, best practice documentation and training.

Depending on the project, the developer might spend up to 50% of time traveling (client on-site).

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

·  At least 1-2 years of software development experience, part of which should include implementing and packaging applications, preferably in the financial services or operational risk domain
·  Working knowledge of all the phases of the software development lifecycle (requirements gathering, analysis, design, development, testing and implementation - mostly for Java web application technology).
·  Good working experience in JavaScript frameworks such like Dojo or jQuery. Working knowledge in creating UI components on server side (JSP, Servlets, Struts, Spring MVC)
·  Experience working with Oracle relational databases (some knowledge of Database Design, writing stored procedures & cursors using PL/SQL, DDL, DML, advanced SQL queries, performance tuning and troubleshooting techniques).
·  Working experience in JEE Web/Application Servers like IBM WebSphere, and Apache Tomcat.
·  Good working experience in XML using extraction, transformation and loading using technologies like XPATH or Java API.
